Rental Assistance Benefit

Rent Assistance Benefit is a program funded by the Province of Alberta.  The program pays a subsidy directly to an eligible tenant to assist with rental costs. Priority for assistance will be based on those in the greatest of need.  

Subsidy is based on the difference between 30% of a household’s income and a pre-determined market rent, to a maximum subsidy of $300.00 for single and $600.00 for family.  

Brazeau Foundation Rent Assistance Benefit (RAB) Program requires the completion of the attached application form and a personal interview to determine your eligibility for this program.  

With the application you must include copies of:  

• Lease/ Rental Agreement Rent receipt for current month   
• Landlord information sheet (download below)
• Most current year Notice of Assessment Most Current year tax filing papers 
• Most Current year Child Tax Credit statement if applicable Child Support Income (bank statement, court order) 
• Picture ID for Applicant and Co-applicant if applicable 
• Previous month income sources  
• Utility bills that you are responsible for paying 

When your application is complete and you have copies of all the above requested information, please call 780-542-2712 to arrange for a personal interview.   

Please note that you need to have the first page completed by a Commissioner for Oaths with the completed Application.  

Your application will not be considered complete until the requested information is received and your personal interview has been completed.   

It is your responsibility to ensure that the information on the application form is kept current; therefore, you should notify the undersigned of any changes that may occur while you are on the waitlist and waiting for accommodation.
